From the Principal

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to the Jehue family.  My name is Armando Urteaga and I am the new principal of Jehue Middle School for the 2011-2012 school year.  Im pleased to be joining the Jaguar team and to continue the great progress the school has made over the years.  Before arriving at Jehue, I was an administrator at Rialto and Eisenhower High Schools.  Currently starting my 14th year as an administrator, I have previous elementary, middle and high school administrative experiences as Assistant Principal, Principal, and Dean of Student Services in the Whittier, Lynwood and Baldwin Park School Districts.  I began my educational career as a middle school science and physical education teacher.
I am excited and proud I am to be able to serve the students, staff, parents, and community of Jehue Middle School and the Rialto Unified School District.
Our primary goals at Jehue are to increase student achievement, prepare our students for high school, while remaining committed to maintaining a safe, positive and productive learning environment.  The Jehue staff is committed to a strong academic focus by implementing a rigorous standards-based curriculum to ensure our students are proficient in Language Arts and Math.  Students also have the opportunity to actively participate in many different student activities that enhance learning.  Our staff has worked hard to create systems to support all of our students, both academically and socially.
I am also looking forward to meeting and working with all parents and guardians of our students.  I understand that the success of Jehue Middle School can only be achieved through the active support and partnership of parents, staff, and the community.   I encourage you to stay involved in your child's education throughout their middle school years and to maintain strong relationships with their teachers to actively monitor their progress in the classrooms.
Jehue offers a variety of student activities to help build a strong school community, morale, while increasing self-esteem and confidence.  These activities include: ASB, Cheer, Band, AVID, Student Clubs, Athletic Sports, and an assortment of other exciting activities.   Please encourage your child to participate in our school activities.
Again, I am honored to be your new principal and look forward to an exciting and successful year!
